Never done a cruise before this one. To be honest I didn’t’ think I would enjoy it because when I go somewhere, I like to get out and explore a country. Not just be dropped off on the beach for a day or two.
BUT, I loved the cruise. Royal Caribbean is the bomb, and there was always plenty to do. We spent alot of time just chilling together. Pools, hottubs, game shows, shows, laser tag, mini golf, water slides, rock climbing… and alot of time eating. The food was amazing.
Our stops weren’t out of this world, but it was enough to wet my appetite to do some more cruises in the future. We stopped at Nassau and CoCo Cay. CoCo Cay is just a private island owned by the cruiseline. Gorgeous beaches and free food all day.
For Nassau we had decided we didn’t want to do any of the typical tourist stuff (jet skiing, parasailing etc. Overpriced and we’ve all done it.) Instead we just wanted to bum it out on a pretty beach and maybe hit up a local town for some souvenirs. Downside for pretty beaches – the cruise ship dumps thousands of people onto all the ones closest to the ship. We don’t like big crowds. So we scoped one out and went to one 15 min away.
Cruise stop tip for Nassau: When you get off the ship there are taxis and vans lined up waiting to take you anywhere you want. It’s about $8-15/person one way for a 15 minute destination. OR, as we found out, if you do your research ahead of time or ask around, you could just grab the local bus transportation for like .$50/person. Find the route you want and the number bus that runs it and wala. Great money saver.
